We love a good adventure, but sometimes you need a weekend to do absolutely nothing.

Nothing on the horizon but relaxing and decompressing after a tough workweek. Going-going-going is fun until it’s not, am I right? If you’re someone who has a hard time just chillin’, we’ve got your back. We’re basically masters in relaxing… just saying!

Say no to plans

This is a really hard one for people, but it’s necessary to enter into full chill mode. You reserve the right to say no to what is expected of you and YES to your own needs. Besides, the best plans are the ones that get canceled last minute so you might as well cut it off early.

No FOMO allowed

Don’t scroll through social media and see all of the fun things you could be doing. Remember — there’s a rose-colored filter on every photo and video you see. Disconnect from the thought process of “I was I was there” and reconnect with “I’m so glad I’m here.”

Do one quick and productive task

Now we know that productivity isn’t the goal for a chill weekend, but it could really help you get in the right mindset if you felt like you did something over the weekend. Knock it out early in the day so you have the rest of the day to do nothing and feel proud of yourself at the same time. Whether that’s getting the grass mowed, unloading the dishwasher, or taking your car through a carwash – doing something that takes some stress off of you will go a long way.

Don’t set an alarm

No plans = sleep in. Your body will wake you up when you’re ready to greet the day. After a long week of waking up too early, it feels so good to get those extra Zs!

Eat like a king

You don’t have to break the bank to eat well. Search up a recipe that hits the spot and chef it up! Our recommendation is always something warm and cozy. It’s incredible what mac and cheese can do to feed your body and your soul. Add a cocktail to the menu if you’re feeling extra saucy!

Curl up with a movie or book you’ve been eyeing

This is probably the most obvious one. Take a mental and physical escape from the real world. It will do wonders for your perspective.

We hope this helps give you the ah-moment you deserve. Go kick some butt next week! Looking for additional ways to treat yourself? Check this out.

You might not get it often, but how do you decompress?
