At Decade, we’re American-made and proud of that fact.

As honored American’s making products in North Carolina, we have a strong calling to support our military members, both past and present. What we find most fulfilling is supporting companies and organizations owned by veterans. While our country often sees a rise in “charitable giving” during the holiday months at the end of the year, it leaves the rest of the year full of “giving” opportunities. And since “giving” doesn’t just mean writing a check, explore some other ways in which you can support veteran companies in your area.

Give them your patronage

If you’re in the market for something new, check out the Veteran Owned Business Directory before you buy. It’s a great way to contribute to the success and longevity of a veteran’s business.

Volunteer your time & skills

Do you have the gift of gab? If your answer is an unwavering “yes,” then you’re probably the perfect candidate to head to the closest VA Medical Facility and visit with those who could use a smile and a good chat. If swinging a hammer is more your speed, check to see if there is a Purple Heart Homes chapter in your area that could use manual labor volunteers.

Spread the word

Nothing could be simpler than telling your friends, family, and coworkers about supporting veteran companies. The prevalence of social media can make it even easier. If you have upcoming plans to support a veteran company, tell others and it may just inspire them to do the same

No matter how you choose to honor our veterans in this country, it’s an important sentiment not to lose sight of. These brave men and women have supported our country in times of need so the least we can do is support them in return.
